Job Title: Head of Computing

Step Teachers are currently working with a vibrant and dynamic independent preparatory school that is committed to providing an outstanding education for its students. The school is situated in the bustling borough of Camden and is currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join the team as the Head of Computing.

Responsibilities:

As the Head of Computing, you will be responsible for:

  • Curriculum Development: Designing and implementing a comprehensive computing curriculum that aligns with national standards and prepares students for the challenges of the digital age.
  • Teaching and Learning: Delivering engaging and innovative computing lessons that inspire a love for learning and foster critical thinking skills among students.
  • Staff Leadership: Providing leadership and support to the computing department, including mentoring and professional development for teachers.
  • Assessment and Reporting: Overseeing the assessment and reporting processes for computing, ensuring accurate and timely feedback to students and parents.
  • Extracurricular Activities: Developing and coordinating extracurricular activities related to computing.
  • Community Engagement: Building strong relationships with parents, and communicating regularly about the computing curriculum and students' progress.

Requirements:

  • A degree in Computing or a related field.
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Proven experience teaching computing at a secondary level.
  • Leadership experience in a computing or technology-related role.
  • As a Head of Computing, you should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A passion for fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
