James Adams is currently looking for an experienced Desktop Support Analyst. This is a 6 month contract inside IR35 working 5 days per week in central Nottingham. 

Job Role:

Operate at various depot locations as part of the IT team providing the onsite and remote support and maintenance of software, hardware and the company intranet to help deliver a reliable and efficient service for IT users.

Job Responsibilities:

• Provide technical support and maintenance of desktop and mobile devices, associated peripherals and software to deliver an efficient and responsive IT service to users.
• Organise the configuration, delivery and installation of hardware and software to IT users enabling them to deliver timely and efficient services.
• Assist in the delivery of small and medium-sized IT projects on the company’s network infrastructure and desktop estate to maintain and improve IT service delivery for users.
• Provide informal training and coaching to IT users to assist them in achieving improved efficiency in the use of IT hardware and software systems.
• Evaluate, test and recommend software and hardware for use in the company to increase the efficiency and productivity of systems.
• Administer and create logon accounts and associated security and email groups for IT users to aid the effective use of IT systems.
• Monitor and maintain levels of IT stock items and associated supplies for use in the IT estate to ensure the availability and continuity of service for IT users.

Skills Required:

• A Microsoft Associate-level qualification or equivalent knowledge and experience of desktop hardware, software applications, operating systems and network connectivity gained in a multi-site environment.
• Excellent hardware and software problem solving skills particularly in relation to desktop and laptop computers, network hardware and Office 365.
• Good written and verbal communication skills and the proven ability to liaise with 3rd party suppliers in order to resolve incidents and to chase supplies.
• Proven ability to deliver complex information and concepts in a clear and concise manner to users at all levels.
• The ability to work under pressure and to prioritise and manage own workload.
• The capability to work alone and with a high degree of initiative.
