Are you looking for an opportunity to support young people with social, emotional and behavioural needs?

We are currently looking to recruit a primary teaching assistant to work in a highly regarded Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in Fulham. The Pupil Referral Unit supports pupils with various behavioural and emotional needs.

The Role

This Alternative Provision are looking to recruit a Maths Teacher on a full-time basis. You will be working directly with 6 – 8 students in the class all of whom have Social Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. You will be delivering KS3 and KS4 Maths.

 

You will need to be approachable and patient and be able to build a strong rapport with children with SEMH. You will receive support from the senior leadership team and therapists’ emotional and behavioural support.  Experience in similar settings is desirable, along with a calm and resilient approach. Team Teach desirable but not essential. Team Teaching training also offered.

This is a full-time contract role until the end of the academic year.

The Provision

  • Alternative Provision for children and young people with medical and/or mental health and wellbeing needs. The Provision is for pupils aged 11 to 16 who have a variety of ongoing medical needs generally relating to emotional-based school avoidance, anxiety, self-harm, adverse childhood experiences and trauma. A number of young people also have additional diagnoses including Autistic Spectrum Condition (ASC), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and special education needs. The curriculum is not solely focused on individual lessons but is an entire planned learning experience, linked to our core values with a child centred approach to every aspect of a student’s life including therapeutic provision, SEMH needs, rewards/sanctions and learning.
