Finance Assistant  

Job Summary

 

  • To maintain the company’s accounting records in a complete and accurate manner
  • To ensure the effective functioning of the Finance department
  • To support the senior management team on particular projects as and when necessary
  • To work with the other support teams to achieve customer satisfaction and long-term account goals in line with the company’s vision and values 

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Responsible for the day-to-day finance function including :
  • Processing purchase invoices
  • Processing sales invoices
  • Processing the bank account into the accounting system
  • Raising cheque runs and banking where required
  • Reconciling all ledgers and bank accounts
  • Preparation of VAT returns
  • Credit control
  • Credit referencing
  • Filing
  • Administrative skills
  • Reconciling petty cash expenditure
  • Preparing budgets
  • Preparing ad-hoc reports and analysis as required
  • Management reporting
  • expenses analysis and credit card analysis and posting

  • Assisting and supporting the Finance Director in his role
  • Adhering to all company policies, procedures and business ethics and ensuring that they are communicated and implemented 
  • Any other duties that may be required form time to time

  • Communicate with other departments
  • Contribute to short and long-term organisational planning and strategy

  • Co-ordinate the use of automated and computerised systems
  • Respond to and deal with customer communication by email, fax and telephone
  • Keep stock control systems up-to-date
  • Produce regular reports and statistics on a daily, weekly and monthly basis

 

Job Specifications:

 

  • Accounting qualification of AAT or similar
  • Experience in a similar business role
  • Highly organised and efficient
  • Flexible in approach to work
  • A ‘get the job done’ attitude 
  • Persuasive with details and facts 
  • High comfort level working in a diverse environment
  • Strong understanding of business relationships
  • Demonstrate well-developed interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
  • Demonstrate a commitment to providing outstanding customer service
  • Proven ability to develop relationships with customers
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Ability to participate as a team member
  • Prior Use of SAP preferable
