Job Description:
Finance Assistant
Job Summary
- To maintain the company’s accounting records in a complete and accurate manner
- To ensure the effective functioning of the Finance department
- To support the senior management team on particular projects as and when necessary
- To work with the other support teams to achieve customer satisfaction and long-term account goals in line with the company’s vision and values
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the day-to-day finance function including :
- Processing purchase invoices
- Processing sales invoices
- Processing the bank account into the accounting system
- Raising cheque runs and banking where required
- Reconciling all ledgers and bank accounts
- Preparation of VAT returns
- Credit control
- Credit referencing
- Filing
- Administrative skills
- Reconciling petty cash expenditure
- Preparing budgets
- Preparing ad-hoc reports and analysis as required
- Management reporting
- expenses analysis and credit card analysis and posting
Responsibilities Cont’d
- Assisting and supporting the Finance Director in his role
- Adhering to all company policies, procedures and business ethics and ensuring that they are communicated and implemented
- Any other duties that may be required form time to time
Relationships and Roles:
- Internal / External Co-operation
- Demonstrate the ability to interact and cooperate with all company employees
- Maintain professional internal and external relationships that meet company core values
- Communicate with other departments
- Contribute to short and long-term organisational planning and strategy
- Fulfil objectives and directions from the senior management team
- Co-ordinate the use of automated and computerised systems
- Respond to and deal with customer communication by email, fax and telephone
- Keep stock control systems up-to-date
- Produce regular reports and statistics on a daily, weekly and monthly basis
Job Specifications:
- Accounting qualification of AAT or similar
- Experience in a similar business role
- Highly organised and efficient
- Flexible in approach to work
- A ‘get the job done’ attitude
- Persuasive with details and facts
- High comfort level working in a diverse environment
- Strong understanding of business relationships
- Demonstrate well-developed interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
- Demonstrate a commitment to providing outstanding customer service
- Proven ability to develop relationships with customers
- Excellent computer skills
- Ability to participate as a team member
- Prior Use of SAP preferable
