I am seeking a Buyer to join an established manufacture in the Slough area, this is an excellent opportunity for a Buyer to join a growing organisation where you can grow and develop on your skills. 

 

The appointed Buyer will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Raising Purchase Orders for material/components
  • Raising ad hoc Purchase Orders for non-stock parts
  • Identify and react to shortages to support Production
  • Proactive solutions to overcome shortages
  • Assist and develop new suppliers and supplier relationships
  • Pro-actively ensuring supplier deliveries are on time. Incl. pulling forward/pushing back deliveries when required
  • Maintaining parameters within our computer system on both Supplier and Parts records
  • Supporting Engineering and Quality department with Supplier related enquiries
  • Sourcing and negotiating with new and existing suppliers

 

Skills and experience needed to be the successful Buyer:

 

  • Procurement experience within a manufacturing or purchasing environment
  • Experience with KanBan, VMI and other material stocking systems
  • Not essential, but experience using MRP system
  • Works well as part of a team
  • Self-motivated
  • Proven experience purchasing electronic / electromechanical components
  • Focused, organised and methodical approach to tasks
  • Able to work well within a fast-paced environment
  • Poses a good attention to detail
  • Experience using Microsoft packages - required for documentation production.
