MAINTENANCE ELECTRICIAN

 

Salary: £14.69 per hour

Working Hours: Permanent, Full time, 40 hours per week (8am-5pm)

Location: Manchester Magistrates Court

 

This role and contract sit within our Facilities Management sector of G4S where we aim to improve the lives of people across the UK and Ireland by creating productive, safe and smooth working environments.

 

We have an opportunity for a Maintenance Electrician to join our team at Manchester Magistrates Court. This is a full-time role working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday between 8am and 5pm. 

 

As a Maintenance Technician, you will work within the Maintenance team implementing Building and Plant maintenance works safely within your range of qualifications, training and experience. You are also expected to be a fully qualified electrician/ electrical engineer with IEE 18th edition certificate to undertake this role.

 

Key responsibilities/Accountabilities:

  • Undertaking PPM tasks in accordance with a schedule and undertake reactive emergency and routine repairs within prescribed timescales.

  • Diagnosing faults on all M&E support systems and rectifying where within levels of competence.

  • To operate planned maintenance procedures for assets effectively and safely within their range of qualifications, training and experience.

  • To deal effectively and safely with breakdowns and damage to assets – this may include doors, carpets and WC’s etc.

  • Maintenance inspection and repairs to various types of heating, water, ventilation, electrical, mechanical and Security etc equipment and services on site.

  • Diagnosing faults on all M&E support systems and rectifying where within levels of competence.

  • Follow detailed drawings and operational maintenance manuals in order to carry out all planned maintenance, routine inspections, repairs and minor works.

  • Participate in the emergency out of hours call rota (extra payment applicable).

  • Recognize the importance of H&S in the workplace.

  • To identify opportunities in order to provide continuous improvement.

 

Essential Criteria:

  • Fully qualified electrician with IEE 18th edition certificate.

  • Experience of 3-phase plant machinery.

  • Working knowledge of other trades such as joinery, plumbing and basic engineering.

  • Experience of commercial electrical installations.

Desirable Criteria:

  • Working knowledge of Fire alarm, intruder alarm and testing experience.

  • HVAC knowledge.

  • PAT testing experience.

  • IT and Telecom system knowledge.
