Up to £85,000 DOE
Norfolk - Hybrid work model

To continue with their mission, they are looking for a dynamic Head of Projects competent in lifecycle management of projects, to oversee their current projects team, delivering control of the workload currently being undertaken, improve visibility of capacity and capability whilst proactively managing and mitigating risks in the team delivering projects to their conclusion.

Responsibilities

  • Taking leadership of current Projects team, having direct responsibility for improving systems, processes within that department.
  • Having a focus on continuous improvement and root cause analysis in the department.
  • Working directly with the VP of engineering on department improvements and strategy.
  • Creating, maintaining, and communicating project plans and technical documents to accurately reflect progress and planned activities for all internal and external stakeholders with the team.
  • Prepare reports for internal and external use including monthly reports with accurate costing information.
  • Create and maintain a risk register for the programmes and identifying and managing project related risks to minimise their impact on project costs, delivery, and quality.
  • Ensure that project non conformances are regularly reviewed and have a plan for closure in a timely manner.
  • Ensure the manufacturing costs for new products are defined and managed.
  • Ensure all subcontract activities are managed and reported affectively.
  • Document and progress to conclusion, critical project decisions that impact project success criteria.
  • Supporting recruitment for the team, including interviewing candidates, and writing job specifications.

Experience

  • Strong engineering and project experience from design through to manufacture/delivery
  • Experience in managing a project management team
  • Proven project lifecycle management experience
  • Demonstratable evidence of development and deployment of production management techniques through the project lifecycle
  • MS Project or similar experience with an understanding of Master Scheduling and Capacity Planning.
  • Understanding of waterfall and/or agile project management tools and techniques.
  • Ability to use own initiative within the scope of the role.
  • Have an encouraging and ‘can do’ attitude
