Procurement Category Specialist needed in Ellesmere Port £22.48 per hr ref 5221393

Full time office based on a temporary basis

• For specific categories work closely with key service departments to develop a Procurement strategy for that category that ensures that best value is achieved. Develop and maintain and implement those category strategies agreed
• Manage all stages of the procurement cycle to ensure that all options for service delivery are considered and contracts are specified, awarded and discharged to meet appropriate commercial, legal, legislative and best value requirements of the clients and service providers
• Advice and support on all aspects of procurement, including tender procedures, compliance with legislation, relevant contract terms, tender evaluation strategies and award procedures, contract management techniques and resolution of disputes to minimize both financial and non-financial risks to the client
• Engage in project work across the procurement team to support the development of the new Procurement team (projects will be allocated as the dept develops)
• Develop and maintain key data , including a spend map ,vendor map and contracts database for a specific range of categories
