My client is a global manufacturer of high-quality products, due to business growth they are now looking to recruit an experienced Accounts Assistant to join them on a Part-time permanent basis. 
 
As the Accounts Assistant you will be supporting the accounts team based in Europe across Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable and General Ledger and other day to day requirements.

As part of you induction you will required to travel to Europe

Duties:
  • Preparation & submission of monthly and annual financial reports to Head Office, including balance sheet and accruals reconciliations.
  • Preparation and submission of monthly cost of sales/WIP reports and statistics to Head Office.
  • Monthly input of customers invoices, reconciliation/confirmation of Group balances
  • Payment of supplier’s invoices using the online HSBC banking system.
  • Posting of payments and receipts to IFS and subsequent monthly bank reconciliation.
  • Posting of all supplier’s invoices to IFS.
  • Monthly reporting of Intrastat declarations within a fixed timescale to the relevant Government body.
  • Quarterly preparation and submission of the VAT.
  • Preparation of spare parts quotations in response to customer requests and dealing with customer queries in relation to spare parts, including liaising with other departments.
  • Input of spare parts work/sales orders into IFS and submission of purchase orders.
  • Maintenance of fixed assets using the Sage application which will include, registering new assets on the system and removing assets disposed. Submitting monthly details to Head Office of year-to-date acquisitions and quarterly submissions of the depreciation forecast. Year-end reporting of annual depreciation, asset value etc. including reconciliation of the fixed assets module to IFS.
  • Absence administrator – responsible for recording staff absences
  • Control of employee expense forms and reconciliation
  • Credit control
Qualifications and skills required:
  • Experience in the preparation of financial accounts
  • Knowledge of Customs & Excise procedures and VAT reporting
  • Proven IT skills and high educational standard in Maths & English
  • Good organisational skills and ability to prioritize
  • AAT (Level 2/3) preferable
