Finance, Benefit & Debt Advisor

Job Description:

Offender Support Advisor – Finance/Debt
Doncaster
Up to £27,500 per year
Full-time, Permanent
Job Description:

We are recruiting for initiative-taking Finance/Debt Support Advisors to work in Prisons, supporting offenders who are due to be released from custody in the coming weeks.

You will work on a 121 basis with a caseload of male or female offenders, and you will work to support those who are at risk of re-offending due to personal barriers to finance, debt, and benefits. You will work to resolve debt issues, establishing payment plans with creditors, advising on where and how offenders can access benefits/housing support etc.  You will have experience working with offenders/ex-offenders in a custodial setting and ideally experience working with debt issues these customers face.

You will give the offenders the skills they need ‘post-custody’ to ensure they have the resilience needed to ensure they do not reoffend due to the financial barriers they might otherwise face. You will have a good knowledge of benefits, housing, finance, and debt, you might work for a charity delivering this support, the job centre, citizens advice bureau.

Due to the nature of this role, you will be required to complete an online Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check and enhanced security clearance vetting.

If this sounds like the perfect role for you then please submit your CV.
