Ashberry Recruitment are currently recruiting for an Accommodation Support Worker for a service based in Manchester, with the aim to provide service users with personalised guidance to enable them to live independently.
As Accommodation Support Worker you will be responsible for supporting vulnerable adults with complex needs including substance misuse and those affected by domestic abuse. You will be responsible for key working, assisting vulnerable adults to access suitable services such as welfare, specific support agencies for addiction and dependency issues and education and training as well as engaging the service user in activities and teaching in life skills such as budgeting, healthy eating, cooking on a budget and other activities such as art classes. You will also maintain and update support plans and deal with tenancy related issues.
Working on a 14 week rota - the shifts will be a mixture of:
Waking nights: 9:30pm-8:30am
This is a 12 weeks contract initially to cover a gap within the service, which could be extended.
To apply for the role of Accommodation Support Worker you will have extensive knowledge of the support needs commonly faced by homeless and vulnerable clients. A positive attitude, a pro-active approach to work and have experience supporting homeless and vulnerable clients, along with knowledge of the benefits system.
