Job Description:
James Adams is recruiting for a Software Engineering Manager to join a London based Fintech backed by a mutli billion dollar US financial services business. Our customer is building a platform to enable and empower consumers & businesses to make better credit decisions and are hiring a technical leader to enable them to build better platforms and services for their customers.
You'll be managing a team of 15-20 software engineers with a reporting line of 3 technical leads / lead developers. Our customer is ideally looking for candidates to get into their Canary Wharf office 1-2 days a week if possible to collaborate and work with their team.
They would be interested in speaking to candidates with the following experience:
Experience:
- Leading complex engineering projects, while maintaining a healthy, sustainable team
- Mentoring engineers and developing great people, not just great products
- Attention to detail; knowing how to ensure quality is maintained
- Guiding architectural choices on appropriate using SQL/NoSQL data stores (Mongo / Oracle / Postgres)
- 8+ years’ software development experience, ideally working with global platforms using Python and/or C#.NET
- 3+ years experience managing software engineers
- Cultivation of a strong engineering culture within an agile environment
- Develop and manage deliverable plans, tracking issues, risks and budgets
- Good communication and presentation - bridging the gap between technical and management teams to clearly communicate progress and issues
In this position you will:
- Coordinate delivery from idea creation through to product deployment
- To grow and manage your engineering team through various processes
- To collaborate with product, architects and team leads to make reliable and sustainable software deliveries
- Management of teams’ dependencies and blockers, keeping them moving forward
- Working with other leaders to build an agile, collaborative and improving organisations
This role will provide you with a salary of up to 140k, hybrid/remote working and an abundance of other benefits.
