Key Account Manager – Plumbing
Leicester, Nottingham, Birmingham, Derby, Sheffield, Northampton
£45,000 -£50,000 plus bonus and great opportunities for progression
Office hours Monday to Friday

We are a leading name in the manufacturer of light side products, with an impressive network of clients throughout the UK. We have two main routes to market, the first is through buying groups and merchants and the second is through projects and specification.
Our brands are well known, and we also manufacture for other companies with a range of white label products.

Due to an acquisition and growth, we have the need for a driven motivated Key Account Manager to engage with our merchant sector.

Principle Accountabilities
  • Achieving sales budgets and targets as defined
  • Developing relationships with National Merchants and buying groups to generate growth through outbound calling, video calling, marketing and face to face meetings structured through specific customer requirements
  • Acquire a thorough understanding of key customer needs and requirements and build a sales and marketing plan to support growth
  • Expand relationships with existing customers by continuously proposing solutions that meet their objectives
  • Maintain & develop contact with merchant customer base at all levels to promote products via;
      • Over the counter sales
      • Showroom sales
      • Passing leads over to contract sales team
  • Maintain close liaison with commercial office team to manage you customer base and ensure your customers are serviced efficiently
  • To establish and maintain good customer relations, particularly by prompt and efficient response to queries or complaints
  • Responsible for proposing trading agreement terms along with National Account Managers and Sales Director
  • Completing sales-associated data input into our CRM system and using reporting tools on a timely and accurate basis
  • Proactively representing the company as required at gatherings such as industry events, sales meetings, product promotions and training sessions
  • Contribute ideas towards future business and product development based on market feedback and trends

Knowledge, skills and experience necessary
 
  • Background in construction related product sales, ideally light side or plumbing, sanitaryware of bathroom accessories.
  • Experience in managing customers with head office, regional and branch structure
  • Previous demonstrable track record in growing sales revenue and improving margin
  • Able to communicate effectively at all levels via phone, video calling and face to face meetings
  • Strong ability to analyse historical sales data and create strategic account plans to deliver sales
  • Track record of success in increasing product penetration within customer groups and generating and converting new business opportunities
  • Experience in managing customer in merchant trade counters & showrooms
  • Good networking and relationship building skills specifically in the construction supply chain.
  • Computer literate including Microsoft Excel, Work, PowerPoint and Teams (Or similar)
