James Adams is currently looking for an experienced Wordpress Developer. This is a 6 month contract inside IR35, working 1 day pw in central London. Gutenberg is an essential skill for this role.

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will play a key role in shaping the future of our architecture and systems. You will collaborate with our Principal Engineers to create solutions that meet our long-term goals. You will work with a diverse range of codebases and systems, with a focus on PHP (WordPress) and JavaScript/TypeScript, but also proficient in other programming languages.

You will be responsible for ensuring our applications and infrastructure align with modern standards and best practices. You will act as a mentor to your team, providing technical guidance and sharing your expertise. Additionally, you will continue to grow by learning from colleagues with different strengths. To excel in this role, it is beneficial to have:

• In-depth knowledge of PHP, WordPress, and industry best practices
• Proficient experience in JavaScript/TypeScript and React/Gutenberg block development
• Strong experience in writing automated tests using PHPUnit and Jest
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Familiarity with Amazon Web Services (AWS)
• Ability to lead and support developers of varying skill levels.
