A welcoming and high-achieving primary academy in Enfield are looking for an experienced SEN teaching assistant to support a pupil with Special Educational Needs on a 2 to 1 basis for the rest of the academic year.

The Role

In this role you will be working with another adult to support a child within the school who requires significant intervention. The child is 5 years old, severely autistic and non-verbal. She displays very challenging behaviour and can be physical (biting/scratching). As a result she has two adults supporting her at all times. The focus of the support will be to provide engaging play-based activities and managing emotional outbursts. You will work closely with the school's SENCO and teaching staff to support the child. 

This role is mornings only with the hours: 8:30am - 12:30pm. 

The school are looking for an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant who is confident in supporting autisic pupil and/or behaviours that challenge.

This 3-form entry primary school is part of a larger all-through academy based in Enfield. The primary school opened in 2013 and now is a popular choice for families in the local community. The school employs a curriculum that enables all to make rapid academic progress across a range of subject areas with an emphasis on reading, writing and numeracy. Behaviour at the school is very good and there are high expectations of pupils and staff alike. The school works closely with the attached secondary school and there is a supportive and established leadership team in place. As a large school within an academy, there is good access to professional development opportunities and training.
