For more than 50 years this client has supplied Processing Equipment for various industries including Medical and Pharma. The equipment can range in size from small capacity designed for R&D to industrial size plants for batch production. Using proven standards this client can supply both simplicity and flexibility in plant design. Their approach using selected process options, control systems and PAT technologies ensure that the qualification and validation procedures are kept to a minimum.

Due to the company's continued growth, there is a requirement to hire an Automation Hardware Engineer. The successful candidate will design and implement electrical and pneumatic hardware controls packages for the process equipment. The role will include all aspects of control system engineering from requirement specification through design, test, and commissioning. The duties will include, but will not be limited to; reviewing and establishing the project scope and deliverables, hardware design specifications, electrical and pneumatic design for the control system, control loop diagrams, equipment selection and equipment listing, cable and tubing schedules, electrical switchgear sizing and design, PLC input/output listings, loading, requesting procurement of the required control system elements, provide support for equipment manufacture and testing and to provide support for the on-site commissioning and qualification of the equipment.

What we would like from the Automation Hardware Engineer:

  • Degree or HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
  • 5+ years' experience plus relevant hardware design
  • Experience using E3, EPlan or equivalent electrical design software
  • Experience using Siemens or Allen Bradley PLCs and HMI's
  • Experience of Automation project delivery across the entire project lifecycle

What we offer the Automation Hardware Engineer:

  • Salary up to £46,000 doe
  • 25 days annual leave. In addition to public bank holidays. (3 days must be used for shutdown over Christmas & New Year)
  • Company Pension Scheme '' [5% Employer and 4% Employee contribution (of base salary). After 3months employment
