Traffic Team Engineer needed in Manchester, £21.50ph PAYE - Reference: 0007 273A / 1

Supporting traffic related local issues.

These issues can include inconsiderate parking, obstructions of the highway, speeding issues, congestion and requests for new highway improvement schemes.

The successful candidate will also be required to attend site meetings and other highway related meetings to offer technical guidance and support to Neighbourhood Officers, local residents and elected members.

A significant part of the role is letter writing providing highway related responses, comments and guidance via email and letter to a wide spectrum of people and organisations.

Ideally have experience of working within Traffic and Transportation with a good understanding of Traffic Regulation Orders (TROs), highway related signage and working within the parameters of ‘The Traffic Sign Regulations and General Directions 2016’. 

There will also be a requirement for the design process to be carried out for minor highway schemes to provide solutions to the problems faced by this city including the provision of waiting restrictions, Traffic Calming schemes and speed restriction changes (including the full process from initial concept to implementation.

 

This is a full time role on a temporary contract basis.
