Principal Embedded Software Engineer

£70,000-£80,000

A Surrey-Based Green Tech/Renewable Energy business are on the hunt for a Principal Embedded Software Engineer to join their vastly expanding team. Over the past few years the business has gone from strength to strength going from a head count of 30 to now over 100 with more growth plans in-store.

Pioneering the Hydrogen Fuel Cell world, this is a very exciting time to join the business!

Responsibilities of a Principal Embedded Software Engineer:

• Lead the Development of Embedded Software
• Mentoring and Leading junior members of the Software + Electronics team
• Design, Implementation, Modification and Maintenance of Software Developed
• Defining Software Architectures
• Supporting System Trades and Architecture Definitions
• Code Development
• Debugging and Verification at both Software and System Level
• Undertaking Fault Analysis, Fault Correction and Product Support with hands on testing and evaluation using a rang of test equipment
• Defining, Generating and Maintaining Documentation for Software Products to Support their Compliance and Validation in accordance with Product Specifications

Skills and Requirements of a Principal Embedded Software Engineer:

• Degree of Equivalent in Electronics/Software Engineering or Computer Science
• Extensive experience with Embedded Microcontroller and Software Verification and Documentation 
• Extensive Design and Development Experience in Embedded C/C++ RTOS/baremetal environment
• Strong Understanding of the C Language and Considerations Specific to Embedded Systems
• Experience in Component and System Testing
• Experience of Designing Device Drivers
• Disciplined in Software Version Control
• Experience with Data Acquisition
