Senior IT Service Desk Analyst (1ST / 2ND Line)

Job Title:   Senior IT Service Desk Analyst (1st / 2nd Line)

Location:   Huddersfield                               

Type:          Contract

Rate:           £150 - £200/day

Duration:   6 months

 

My client, a rapidly expanding organisation require a Senior Service Desk Analyst to provide support and maintenance across the company’s IT systems and provide efficient 1st and 2nd line support to all business users. This role will suit an experience Service Desk Analyst who can hit the ground running and doesn’t need guidance or leading.

The position:

  • Ensures telephone calls / emails / self-service calls are answered promptly using the Service Desk standards
  • Through questioning and using the tools available, logs all the relevant information from the customer on the service desk software and where possible aims to resolve the problem at first line
  • Ensures that unresolved problems are completed with as much information as possible and assigned in accordance with current procedures
  • Carries out morning and evening procedures ensuring any issues are report to the relevant parties
  • Ensures that he/she is familiar with the current IT support procedures and ensures these are adhered to
  • Advises IT Engineers/Manager of any shortcomings of systems used / improvements that could be made
  • Diagnose and resolve technical issues
  • Provide desktop support to users and support IT Engineers where possible with this.
  • Setting up and configuring new laptops and desktops to documented standards
  • Install authorised software to laptops and desktops where appropriate having the relevant authorisation
  • Ensuring security and upgrades are applied and kept up to date on desktops and laptops
  • Antivirus installation to all desktops and laptops
  • Fault-finding to laptops and desktops
  • Reporting faults and maintaining logs on servers, desktops and laptops
  • Completing internal user moves including phones
  • Ensure all logs for equipment and users are maintained
  • Setting up new users and disabling expired accounts in accordance with HR requirements
  • Providing support for PC, laptops, phones and other desktop kit
