A Specialist school for pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs are looking for experienced Behaviour Teaching Assistants with experience who can join the school to support their pupils on a long-term basis

The Role

In this role you will be teaching a class of 8 primary age learners all who have SEMH needs and Autism. 2 pupils are verbal and can read and write to good standard.  You will take on planning responsibilities for planning age appropriate activities and other additional learning opportunities whilst also giving pupils time for energy breaks. There is an experienced team of Learning Support Assistants in place in the class to provide support to all learners. The class needs a teacher who has a good understanding of behaviour management and autism who can provide structure, routines and appropriate learning.

 

Due to the nature of this role, the school are looking for a Teacher with previous experience supporting pupils with SEMH or complex emotional and behavioural needs. PRU or similar experience would be preferable. Restraint training such as PRICE or de-escalation training is desirable, however, not essential; as PRICE training will be provided.
