Orion are proud to partner with a leading Engineering and Manufacturing client in the heart of West Sussex who are looking to add a Materials Controller to their rapidly growing team!

I am seeking an experienced Material Controller who can take accountability of the client’s materials management activities, ensuring delivery against agreed budgets and performance objectives.

 The Material Controller will be responsible for:

• Preparation, validation and scheduling of purchase orders to achieve appropriate level of material availability
• Working alongside the Production Planning team, schedule material in to support the build plan, and at the same time maintain optimal inventory levels
• Broad range of supply chain skills focused on: Negotiation, technical understanding, supplier management and risk management.
• Create robust recovery plans for suppliers that are in back log of deliveries

Experience and skills needed to be the appointed Material Controller will be:

• Understanding of MRP systems
• Previous experience in a manufacturing and supply chain environment
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to work effectively with teams
• Self-motivated with a can-do attitude
• Flexible approach to work
