Job Title: Careers Advisor

Location: Newton Abbot

Salary: £22,000 - £29,500 (Depending on qualifications and experience) + benefits

Type: Full Time, permanent

An exciting opportunity awaits a motivated and engaging individual who is looking to support the wider community and lower unemployment rates.

The Role:

• Work closely with a caseload of individuals as they prepare to return to life in the community, working on a 1:1 and group basis, you will provide careers advice, employability workshops,  IAG and explore suitable learning and employment opportunities.
• Build confidence and address barriers to gaining employment through tailored support and interventions.
• Organise job fairs, careers events, motivational speakers and employer visits.
• Gain an understanding of specialist signposting services within the local area/region.
• Completing all necessary paperwork in line with compliance and quality standards.

Essential Criteria:

• Ideally hold a Level 4 in Careers, Information, Advice and Guidance (CIAG) although this is not essential.
• Ideally hold experience in providing careers advice to adults.
• Must demonstrate an engaging personality, with ability to motivate and encourage individuals who are returning to work and learning.
• Good understanding of the local labour market.
• Must have experience of working within a target driven environment.
• IT literate.
• Full, clean, UK driving licence and access to own vehicle.
