Fully remote-based role. Full-time Permanent career opportunity for a candidate with good SQL skills - and ideally exposure to additional modern technologies such as C# - to work as a data migration / data conversion engineer at this well-established and structured global medical software company, supporting new client projects for their US and UK markets.
Please note: This is not a developer position or a data analyst or reporting role – it sits somewhere in the middle – but can lead to career avenues down these routes!
Data Migration Engineer – role:
This hugely varied, client-facing position will give you responsibility for managing ongoing data conversion projects (on databases with complex entities).
It will see you thinking on your feet, using your core MS SQL / TSQL skills but also learning how to develop, maintain a range of data migration tools to convert / migrate data from new client’s existing systems to the vendor’s own products, with a particular focus on Cloud work.
Working in a very collaborative and inclusive global team, spanning the UK and US (and communicating with other world locations too) you’ll be gathering requirements, supporting the client through the conversion process, testing for results, and working on any post-conversion issues that may arise, working closing with the software development team.
Data Migration Engineer – the person:
As a core technical skill, candidates should have good SQL abilities. (TSQL, query writing and presenting this information, an understanding of how databases are structured). Additionally: -
Excellent client handling skills, as you’ll be supporting business clients through the migration process.
An interest in modern software technologies (e.g. perhaps you’ve created a uni’ project using C#?)
Someone who is keen and engaged to learn more (there’s so much to learn and gain on this job!)
The ability to be flexible with your core hours (a later start / later finish, perhaps a 1-2x per week, as there’s a US focus)
The company offers the opportunity to grow in a well-structured, but continually evolving technical environment alongside the R&D and software development division, where you can settle, utilise your skills but expand your experience and grow with the company for the long-term. Prior staff have gone on to lead in the department, or to work in Software Development. Earnings to £38,000 + range of benefits depending on skills-set and experience. Services advertised by Dupen are those of an Agency.
