The Successful candidate will join market leader within the Independent Film industry. You will be the lead for an online streaming platform, leading the way to democratizing cinema by connecting audiences to content they’ve never seen before, and offering weekly online movie premieres.

Due to huge growth, they are seeking a highly skilled Lead Software Engineer, as the client look to dominate the market over the coming years.

Responsibilities:

• Lead a team of developers, providing technical guidance, mentoring, and support to ensure high-quality deliverables.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including stakeholders and designers, to understand requirements, define technical solutions, and set realistic timelines.
• Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the existing codebase, architectural patterns, and design principles to provide guidance and make informed decisions.
• Take a hands-on approach in coding, ensuring the team follows best practices and delivering high-quality code in JavaScript, Node.js, React, and React Native.
• Drive the continued use of agile software development methodologies, including Scrum or Kanban, and ensure effective project management and delivery.
• Conduct code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and implement strategies for code quality improvement and optimization.
• Collaborate with the team to identify and resolve technical challenges, troubleshoot issues, and implement scalable solutions.

Requirements:

• Strong preference for a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience of 5-6+ years as a Software Engineer with hands-on coding experience using JavaScript, Node.js and React (and React Native exp. a big plus), with a strong preference for overall commercial experience of 8+ years.
• Demonstrated experience in a leadership role, leading and mentoring a team of software developers.
• Strong understanding of agile software development methodologies and experience working in an agile environment.
• In-depth knowledge of JavaScript, Node.js, React, and React Native frameworks, along with familiarity with related tools and libraries.
• Experience with the full software development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyse complex technical issues and provide practical solutions.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross[1]functional teams and stakeholders.
• Proven track record of delivering high-quality software projects on time and within budget.
• Familiarity with AWS, DevOps practices, and CI/CD pipelines is a big plus.
• Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire team members to achieve their full potential.

Location:

Sevenoaks, Kent 3x per week

Salary:

Up to £80,000 depending on experience
