Step Teachers are a preferred supplier for Teach in Herts; as a part of our ongoing success in building and retaining relationships with many schools and academy trusts in the area we currently have a supply opportunity for a Food Technology Teacher. The role is initially temporary for 5 weeks, but there is the potential for this to be extended. 

This Independent School in the north of Hertfordshire has its ethos rooted in providing a high quality, well rounded education for all those who attend the school through providing a curriculum that is appropriately challenging to each individual. By the time student leave the school they are prepared to take the next step in their lives. 

Role:

  • Strong Food Technology curriculum knowledge at KS3 & 4
  • Upkeep a tidy, organised classroom with the safe use and storage of all equipment
  • Direct and support any additional staff in the classroom where applicable
  • Ability to assess and report on your students when required
  • Able to plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons
  • Willingness to comply with the schools’ policies and implement them effectively

Requirements:

  • Hold QTS or an equivalent qualification for teaching in secondary school
  • Have recent mainstream school-based experience teaching PE at secondary school level
  • Have a good level of classroom and behaviour management
  • A relevant PE or Sports related degree is desirable
