Workers will be expected to work on a fast-paced production line preparing fish before it is smoked. The duties will include cutting the fish heads off, filleting, trimming the fat from the fish and taking the bones out. This will then be transported to the kiln for smoking.
Workers will be expected to take work on a production line preparing the smoked fish to be packed for distribution or sales. This will involve cutting the smoked fillets to the required size and shape and packaging on production line. Attention to detail is important for this role as after this the next person to see the product is the customer. Therefore, all packaging must be neat and presentable.
Workers will be expected to label the ready packed product for distribution. Working with label machines and bespoke computer software will require attention to detail and full concentration.
Cleaning / Hygiene
This is mainly done at night shift and will involve cleaning the equipment down in the evening before the production lines start the following morning. This can be physically demanding.
