£56k plus bonus

Due to continued growth a large not for profit organisation are recruiting an experienced Bid Production Manager to join the highly successful Business Development team. You will lead the production of high-quality, tenders to win new business and retain existing business across key markets (Employment Services, Justice, Youth Service, Education, Healthcare and Business Support).
This is a hands-on role that requires high-quality writing skills and experience developing winning solutions through constructive challenge and feedback.
The post holder will work with public and private markets including: DWP, ESFA, BEIS, MOJ, DIT, ESF/ERDF, Apprenticeships Local/Combined Authorities, and/or private sector organisations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage/lead the production of high-quality, winning bid responses and submissions, ensuring these consistently score the highest available quality marks
- Support other members of the team to consistently deliver high scoring responses
- Support the Head of Bid Production to develop and improve our in-house writing capability, e.g. by providing constructive challenge and feedback to other writers
- Lead on storyboarding and drafting responses to ensure win themes are reflected in bid responses, maximising potential to secure the contract.
- Development and drafting of bid submissions or propositions in line with the requirements of the specification and scoring criteria
- Provide management/oversight into the completion of bids through their various stages in accordance with governance processes and good practice.
- Lead and support selected bidding and business development opportunities, undertaking the research and completion of EOI, PQQ, ITT and proposals.
- Responsible for the day-to-day coordination and management of project writers / submissions to ensure winning submissions
- Create a win strategy for each bidding opportunity, ensuring that agreed key messages / win themes are present in the bid response document.
About you:
- A minimum of 3 years’ managing/leading winning tender submissions.
- Excellent bid writing and verbal communication skills
- Strong ability to review/provide constructive feedback to maximise bid scoring
- Willing and able to work flexible, non-standard hours, under pressure, to meet tight deadlines.
Skills required:
- Demonstrable track record of leading/managing winning multi-million pound competitive tenders in the public sector
- Solid understanding of how a high-scoring bid response needs to look like
- Excellent bid writing and verbal communication skills
- Track record of tendering success as a bid writer/bid manager or equivalent role
- Proven skills in producing content within a complex business environment.
- Evidence of analytical skills and paying attention to detail, producing appropriate, accurate, high quality written work.
- Familiarity with tendering portals, understanding of public sector procurement practices and demonstrable experience of managing, preparing, and writing successful bids for contracts.
