Social Media Manager (freelance)


Job Description:

We have an excellent opportunity with Mencap, who are seeking a Social Media Manager to join them on a freelance basis for a period of 8-12 weeks, working on average 2-3 days per week.

Mencap is a leading UK charity which works in partnership with people with learning disabilities to help them lead healthy and happy lives. They support people in many different ways, including by helping them find work, providing advice, campaigning and working all over the UK to make communities accessible to people with learning disabilities.

The freelance Social Media Manager will report into the Head of Communications and will provide interim cover while they recruit for a permanent team member. You will oversee the day-to-day management of Mencap’s social media channels, which will include delivering strategies and planning and curating content for organic campaigns.

To be successful in the Social Media Manager role you will need:

  • Experience in the strategic planning and delivery of organic social media campaigns
  • Experience creating and curating social media content, ideally using Canva
  • Experience working for a charity (exposure to a disability charity would be highly beneficial)  

Salary: £35,000 - £42,000 (full-time equivalent)
Contract: Freelance (2-3 days per week for a duration of 8-12 weeks)
Location: London (Spitalfields) – Remote and hybrid working offered
