Due to an extended period of exponential growth, they are looking for a Mechanical design engineer to join the team and take leadership of significant projects for the business.

About The Mechanical Design Engineer Role

You will be responsible for developing and overseeing the design process on major projects and contributing mechanically to design work across the business.

The Mechanical Design Engineer will be responsible for:

• Create diverse drawings using 2D CAD or 3D Inventor as needed.
• Apply design for manufacture principles and generate diagrams and a Bill of Materials.
• Identify equipment parts prioritizing approved products when possible.
• Transmit complete Bill of Materials for project support.
• Maintain drawings in line with Quality Management System standards.
• Ensure technical file structures comply with company and ISO Standards.
• Develop skill frameworks and individual training plans for the Draughting team.
• Provide design assistance to manufacturing, sales, and R&D departments.

A successful Mechanical Design Engineer will need:

• Mechanical Engineering Apprenticeship, HNC/HND, or BEng/MEng in Engineering.
• Experience in mechanical design or machine supply technical environments.
• Proficiency in general engineering plant & equipment, material handling industries.
