Job Description:

MPI requires a Permanent Commissioning & Project Engineer, for our client based in Malpas.

 

Salary to be discussed during interview

Travel to different sites is essential (company van provided)

 

Role:

  • Responsibility for the full commissioning of effluent plants once construction has been completed.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any issues that may arise during the commissioning process.
  • Liaise with design team to ensure plant commissioning requirements are incorporated at design stage and included in appropriate scope of works.
  • To assist Project Managers and Site Managers in the successful delivery of effluent plant construction installation projects.
  • Maintain records and data, operate and maintain information systems and undertake general administrative tasks.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Carry out commissioning engineer roles and responsibilities and deliver schemes in a safe compliant manner.
  • Develop and deliver commissioning plans, programmes and commissioning manual documentation.
  • Produce accurate reports detailing the progress of commissioning activities & distribute commissioning log/daily diaries and any other information with engineers. Undertake site visits during tendering, design and construction as required to support project delivery through to commissioning and handover.
  • Oversee and sign off FAT and SAT, and process witness tests.
  • Liaise with sub-contractors regards commissioning deliverables and interfaces.
  • Liaise with the Client to ensure interfacing and switch over arrangements during commissioning are developed and integrated into the commissioning strategy.
  • Provide onsite & offsite support to optimise equipment performance and efficiency.
  • Assist in the preparation of take over reports.
  • Undertake, development and compilation of O&M Manuals and as-built documentation.
  • Develop training documentation and deliver client training.
  • Support project managers in developing snag lists and managing delivery of all snagging to complete construction to practical completion.
  • Provide post commissioning assistance to Clients during initial stages of plant operation and defect correction.
  • Review and monitoring of MEICA related project risks.
  • General assistance in all aspects of the project delivery phase through design to ensure a consistently high standard of quality control is maintained for each project.

 

Qualifications/ Experience

  • 5 to 10 years’ mechanical and electrical experience in the technical delivery and commissioning of industrial and wastewater effluent treatment plants.
  • Appreciation and familiarity of PLC control system, functions and operations. Allen Bradley and Siemens.
  • Experience of fault finding, commissioning and maintenance of waste water treatment related products and systems.
  • Appropriate engineering degree or equivalent qualification desirable.
  • Electrical competence with City & Guilds Electrical Qualification desirable
  • Construction Skills Certification Scheme Card desirable.
  • CITB Site Supervisor Safety Training Scheme desirable.
  • Full valid UK Driving Licence.
  • Microsoft office proficient (Word, Excel, Project) numerate and able to write reports.
