Contract Environmental / Health & Safety Advisor (Manufacturing)
HSE / EHS (Environmental and Health & safety)
12 month contract, Immediate start available
An opportunity has arisen for a Health & Safety Co-Advisor to join a dynamic, successful manufacturing company in a varied role with responsibility for all aspects of Environmental and Health & safety policies in addition to maintaining and updating the EHS management systems. As Health and Safety Co-ordinator you will support the company’s commitment to continuous improvement by developing policies, systems and site operations.
As such, as Health & Safety Advisor you will take a pro-active role, and the management team will give you every support. You should be able to encourage Safety without the need to continually enforce Safety. You must be able to work well with the existing company staff and have a proactive communicative approach to the role. You must have good written and communication skills and an ability to develop and implement Health and Safety performance related systems and procedures where required.
As Environmental & Health and Safety Advisor, you will be responsible for managing and promoting on-site Health and Safety and environmental awareness throughout the facility.
Key accountabilities will include:
- Promoting positive H&S culture within the Company and developing Environmental and H&S policies
- Implementation and maintenance of procedures and systems to meet the requirements of ISO14001 and 45001
- Production of method statements & risk assessments. Utilising your expertise to ensure regulatory requirements such as COSHH, RIDDOR and fire plans are met
- Ensuring the maintenance and testing of disaster recovery procedures.
- Undertaking regular audits and monitoring HSE performance to identify and implement improvements as well as ensuring robust preventative or corrective actions are put place for any areas of non-conformance
- Act as point of contact for HSE and EA representatives
- Identify training needs and provide necessary training courses
To succeed in this interesting role you will likely be:
- An experienced Health & Safety (HSE / EHS) professional
- Proven experience working within manufacturing, engineering or closely related industry
- The ability to develop and maintain 14001 & 45001 systems
- NEBOSH qualification essential.
