Job Type: Full-Time
Salary: £38,000 per annum + 15% shift premium for late shift
Shift Pattern:
- Early Shift: 6:00 AM – 2:00 PM
- Late Shift: 2:00 PM – 10:00 PM (15% shift premium)

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Engineer with strong electrical and mechanical experience to maintain and optimize our CNC machinery and other production equipment. Job Overview
As a Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of CNC machinery and other production equipment. This role requires both electrical and mechanical skills, with a focus on ensuring minimal downtime and efficient production. You’ll work on a rotating early and late shift pattern, with a 15% shift premium on late shifts.
Key Responsibilities of the Maintenance Engineer
- Perform preventative and reactive maintenance on CNC machines, ensuring they operate at peak performance.
- Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults on CNC machinery and production equipment.
- Work with production teams to minimize equipment downtime and maintain production efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and company maintenance protocols.
- Use diagnostic tools and equipment to troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems.
- Record maintenance activities, including work completed and parts used, for accurate documentation.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability and reduce maintenance-related downtime.
Qualifications and Skills of the Maintenance Engineer
- Proven experience (3+ years) as a Maintenance Engineer with expertise in both electrical and mechanical maintenance, specifically working with CNC machinery.
- Strong ability to troubleshoot and repair CNC machines, including electrical and mechanical systems.
- Knowledge of control systems, hydraulics, and pneumatics as they apply to CNC machinery.
- Basic understanding of PLC systems for troubleshooting purposes.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced production environment.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Technical certification or vocational training in electrical/mechanical engineering.
- Experience working in a CNC machining or precision manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with safety protocols and regulations in a manufacturing setting.
