Job Description:

Step Teachers are currently looking for a joint MFL and Food Technology Teacher to work in a Secondary School in Exeter. This is a part time role, Monday to Wednesday, and the school are looking for a MFL and Food Technology Teacher who can combine the responsibilities of teaching both subjects. The role start in January 2025 and continues until the end of the academic year. 

Alongside the academic qualifications that students gain, part of the mission of this Secondary School is to support students to develop emotionally as well. The overarching ethos of this school is that every student is an individual that it is importance to recognise this: the school have been graded ‘Good’ under the former Ofsted ratings for schools.

MFL and Food Technology Teacher Role:

  • Good knowledge of the KS3 and KS4 Food Technology MFL curriculum for French and Spanish
  • Organised and professional maintenance of the classroom, including safe use and storage of equipment
  • Work effectively with other members of staff, both within the departments and throughout the school
  • Ability to assess students, monitor their progress, and provide constructive feedback
  • Able to plan and deliver both theoretical and practical lessons that are engaging and adhere to the curriculum
  • Compliance with the schools’ policies and the reliable implementation of these

MFL Food Technology Teacher Requirements:

  • Hold QTS or an equivalent qualification for teaching in Secondary School
  • Have recent mainstream school-based as a Food Technology Teacher and/or an MFL Teacher.
  • Have a good level of classroom and behaviour management
  • A relevant related to either subject specialism is desirable.
  • SEND experience is desirable
