Our client, a respected and forward-thinking manufacturer, is currently seeking a skilled Supplier Quality Engineer to join their team. This is a key role that combines core quality engineering responsibilities with a strong focus on supplier quality. The successful candidate will play a vital part in maintaining high-quality standards both internally and across the supply chain.

 

Key Responsibilities for the Supplier Quality Engineer:

  • Supports the development, implementation, and maintenance of the company’s quality systems in alignment with ISO 9001.
  • Leads and participates in root cause analysis and the development of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) for both internal and supplier-related quality issues.
  • Conducts internal and supplier audits to ensure adherence to quality requirements and drives continuous improvement.
  • Works cross-functionally with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Procurement teams to support product launches, process improvements, and quality planning.
  • Manages non-conformance reports (NCRs), including those related to supplier-provided materials and components.
  • Monitors supplier performance using key quality metrics (e.g., PPM, delivery performance) and collaborates on improvement initiatives.
  • Provides training and guidance to internal teams and suppliers on quality standards, tools, and processes.
  • Assists with customer quality audits, documentation, and reporting as needed.

 

Candidate Requirements as a Supplier Quality Engineer:

  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a Quality Engineering role, ideally with exposure to supplier quality management.
  • Solid understanding of quality methodologies and tools.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001.
  • Strong communication, analytical, and organisational skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and quality management systems; experience with ERP platforms is advantageous.
  • Professional certifications (e.g., ASQ CQE, CQA, or CSQP) are beneficial but not essential.

Additional Information:

  • The role may require occasional travel to supplier sites (maximum of once a month).
  • This position involves working across office, production, and supplier environments.
  • Additional annual 5% bonus.
