Job Description:
We are looking for an experienced Accountant to join a growing construction business. This is a key role responsible for managing the day-to-day financial operations, with a focus on project accounting, cost tracking and ensuring compliance with industry-specific financial regulations such as CIS.
You’ll work closely with project managers, suppliers and subcontractors to ensure accurate financial control and reporting across multiple construction projects.
Key Responsibilities:Manage and oversee all aspects of financial operations, including accounts payable/receivable and bank reconciliation
Prepare monthly management accounts, cash flow forecasts, and financial statements
Monitor project costs, budgets, and profit margins
Administer and submit CIS returns and verify subcontractors
Handle VAT returns and liaise with HMRC when required
Maintain accurate records for all construction projects and ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations
Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and year-end audits
Liaise with external accountants, suppliers, and key stakeholders
Support operational teams with financial insights and reporting
