My client has over 35 years industry experience and an exceptional reputation for designing, manufacturing, and delivering bespoke automated manufacturing, processing, and packing solutions to a range of industry sectors.

As the Mechanical Design Manager, you will be responsible for leading the mechanical design team. The role involves managing a small team of 4 mechanical design engineers (approximately 75% management) while also contributing directly to mechanical design tasks (25%). The ideal candidate will have experience managing workflows, running weekly design reviews, budget control and checking designs.

What we would like from the Mechanical Design Manager:

• Bachelors or Masters Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
• Proven experience in mechanical design within automation, mechatronics, or related industries
• Prior leadership or managerial experience, preferably in a small team setting
• Proficiency with Inventor or other 3D CAD software
• Strong understanding of mechanical materials, manufacturing processes, and design for reliability
• Knowledge of pneumatics and control systems
• Knowledge of relevant standards and safety regulations

What we offer the Mechanical Design Manager:

• Salary up to £65,000 doe
• 25 days annual leave
• Company pension
• 37.5 hours week (8am till 4.30pm Mon to Thurs and 8am till 1.30pm Friday)
