We have a client, based in Kendal, Cumbria looking for an Industrial Electrician to work on an Engineering team, working a 5-shift pattern. The role has great benefits and room for progression to Area or Project Engineer, either of which would be the next step in the career ladder in terms of progression dependent on performance, experience and aspiration.
The ideal candidate will have completion of an Electrical Apprenticeship, Qualified to a minimum of ONC or NVQ level 3 in an electrical discipline. Ideally looking for someone qualified to 17th/18th edition City and Guilds in Electrical Wiring Regulations.
Strong evidence of Industrial Electrical experience.
Some instrumentation and control experience would be desirable.
Excellent interpersonal skills specifically in communication and ability to build relationships and to influence others.
Strong decision making character, with key strengths being on fault finding. Ability to monitor, analyse and solve complex problems with systems and plant, and seeks advice or assistance when required.
Needs to be able to make difficult decisions with a minimum amount of information and time and present solutions as they arise, seeking assistance as required.
Adaptable and agile, responding to machine breakdown requests from production.
Competent and experienced with the risk analysis.
The equipment that you could expect to be working on would include: All types of electrical equipment including: single phase and 3 phase electrical systems, AC and DC motors and drives. The role may also include some PLC fault finding work and general electrical installation duties.
Please note the role would be split between reactive and preventative maintenance - a 50/50 split, this role would be first point response for breakdowns (reactive) along with daily planned work.
You could expect a reasonable amount of overtime dependent on business need.
