Strategic Commercial Leadership Opportunity
I'm delighted to be partnering with a highly respected and growing print and marketing services group to recruit a Group Sales & Marketing Director.
This is a leadership role for an experienced commercial strategist who understands how to drive new business growth, develop high-performing sales teams, and build long-term customer relationships.
This is not a cold-calling, new business hunter position. Instead, we're looking for a commercially astute leader who can shape strategy, lead from the front, and create a more structured, insight-led approach to sales and marketing across the group.
The Opportunity
Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you'll take ownership of the group's commercial strategy and lead the Sales & Marketing function through its next phase of growth.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing and executing the group's sales and marketing strategy
- Leading enterprise-level new business activity through the wider sales team
- Driving strategic account growth and strengthening key client relationships
- Developing value propositions, sector strategies, pricing models, and go-to-market plans
- Creating greater commercial discipline around forecasting, pipeline management, reporting, and performance measurement
- Working closely with operational leadership to ensure customer solutions are both commercially successful and operationally deliverable
- Coaching and developing senior commercial professionals, creating a culture of accountability, collaboration, and high performance
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- A proven track record of senior commercial leadership within the print, marketing services, direct mail, communications, packaging, or wider print solutions sector
- Experience leading sales and marketing functions at a strategic level
- A strong history of delivering profitable revenue growth and securing major strategic contracts
- Board-level credibility with the ability to influence senior stakeholders both internally and externally
- Strong commercial acumen covering pricing, forecasting, margin management, negotiation, and strategic planning
- Experience building and developing high-performing commercial teams
- A data-led, analytical approach to decision making and performance management
Location
The role is based in Surrey and will require regular time on-site.
Candidates based across the South of England are highly desirable. We will also consider exceptional candidates based in the Midlands who are able to commit to travelling to head office 2-3 days per week.
If you're a senior commercial leader from the print industry looking for a role where you can genuinely influence strategy, drive growth, and leave a lasting impact, I'd be delighted to speak with you.
