Job Description:

Seeking an experienced Emergency Planning Officer to work on a 35 hour per week contract role to start on the 03-07-17 unntil the 29-09-17 with a likely extension.

Hours are 9:00 am to 5:30 pm, Monday to Friday.

Primary job role:

  • working with officers, managers and directors to improve operational resilience of client's services  in the event of an emergency or unplanned incident
  • supporting  the client to comply with the requirements of the  Civil Contingency Act 2004 and the Minimum Standards for London
  • co-ordinating client’s 24/7 response to an emergency or unplanned incident
  • working with managers and directors  to ensure that critical services can be delivered before, during and after an emergency
  • implementing business continuity arrangements across the client and advising senior managers on business continuity issues within their directorates.
  • working with partners, agencies and the voluntary sector on promoting community resilience in an emergency

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:

Experience of preparing and exercising emergency plans

or

Experience of implementing business continuity systems across a complex organisation

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITY:

Knowledge and understanding of

  • The Civil Contingencies Act 2004
  • Emergency Planning
  • Crisis/emergency management
