Job Description:
Saffron Vanilla are pleased to offer this brilliant opportunity for a professional and multi-skilled Head Chef to run our client’s busy commercial kitchen.
The successful candidate will inherit a strong, well-established team, providing approximately 2,300 meals daily through their hot meal service, delivered to local primary schools.
You will be responsible for following recipes and allergen controls, ensuring that their delicious meals are cooked in line with company policies as well as manage all Food Safety policies.
Unlike other Head Chef roles, you will not have the responsibility of menu planning, costing or ordering as this is completed by the clients, which means you have more time to focus on organisation, preparation and cooking meals.
Ultimately, our client would like someone who can encourage professionalism but also add a sense of fun and celebrate a job well done.
The role and you:
You must have;
·Level 3 in Food Safety (or equivalent)
·Experience of managing HACCP
·Experience with large scale food production
·Great communication skills
·Excellent time management
You will;
·Promote high levels of performance, personal hygiene and appearance
·Have good culinary knowledge
·Have innovative ideas of new dishes to encourage good habits and healthy eating
·Have a keen eye for detail
·Be able to lead, motivate and work as part of a large team
·Have excellent organisational skills and work to deadlines

·Work to maintain a calm environment
·Be proactive
What the role offers:
·Salary of £27k per annum
·Sociable working hours (06:45-15:15)
·Monday – Friday (no weekends)
·Work up to 40 of 52 weeks (maximum)
·Holidays in line with school terms
