Job Description:

We are seeking a rosette experienced Senior Chef de Partie to join our busy kitchen team and to help provide an excellent quality of food for College members, students, staff and conference guests.

Working with us, you will enjoy a 40-hour work week, working 5 days out of 7 on a rota basis.You will also benefit from 38 days annual leave, an excellent pension scheme, travel loans, free meals at work, training and uniforms.

Our kitchen is open for 51 weeks of the year (closing for a week each Christmas) catering for students, functions and formal events, conference guests and staff. During term time, our team caters for an average of 80 for breakfast, 150 for lunch and 145 for dinner which is divided between informal and formal dining 6 nights per week. In addition, there are departmental and society events, black tie formal dinners and small conferences, giving you the opportunity to cook creative fine dining as well as high volume fresh food. Outside of term time, the College opens its doors to large conferences during which we cater for up to 350 for breakfast, lunch and dinner in addition to a small number of bed and breakfast guests.

Key areas of responsibilities include daily preparation of menu items to standards set by the Head Chef. Helping to instruct, train and guide staff when rostered as duty supervisor to ensure the smooth running of kitchen's day to day operations. Order, receive, store and rotate food stocks and sundries. Working safely and obeying all College Health and Safety rules as set out in the College’s Health and Safety Policy and Staff Handbook.

To succeed, you should have or be working towards an NVQ Level 3 in Professional Cookery and Level 3 in Food Hygiene, alongside five years industry experience. You will ideally have a 2 rosette background and experience within a hotel or similar College environment. We are seeking an effective communicator with supervisory experience. You will have a clean with a smart appearance.
