Lamonby Recruitment are recruiting on behalf of our client for a Graduate / Trainee Quantity Surveyor. Established in 1979 the company is a family-owned and operated engineering group specialising in Civil Engineering, Surfacing, Construction and Remediation.
The Graduate / Trainee Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for taking off and measuring roads, sewers and foundations.
Graduate/ Junior Quantity Surveyor Role: -
Key attributes of the position will include interpersonal skills and Client Management, Professional Competence and the ability to read/ write and measure Bills of Quantity (BoQ).
Reporting to the Senior Quantity Surveyor the Graduate Quantity Surveyor will have responsibility for the contractual and commercial support of projects.
Role Requirements and Qualifications: -
Attend pre-contract and pre-start meetings when required.
Check all incoming contracts and warranties and ensure that all orders and letters of intent are properly acknowledged and accepted on the same terms as the offer was made or agree the amendments.
Ensure the checking of any terms and conditions submitted by the estimating staff.
Maintain area commercial reporting and measurement systems.
Manage the process to ensure Invoices/Applications prepared by the department are checked by individual disciplines, and are up to date on a monthly basis.
Manage the process of the reviewing and sign off sub-contractor accounts by individual disciplines.
Will be required to possess or to be studying for a Bachelor Degree or similar within Quantity Surveying.
