Our client is an international energy consultancy who have operated for the past 20+ years providing a comprehensive range of consultancy services that support clients effectively managing their energy strategy.

The company is dynamic and fast-growing, with an increased focus on the UK and European I&C and mid-market sectors and is undergoing an expansion program. 

Reporting into the Head of Mid-market sales, your primary aim is to assist the team in landing new clients in the mid-market sector. The company provides ongoing professional growth and a friendly environment for the right candidate.

 

Business Development Manager Responsibilities:

  • Self-generating a book of new business to help deliver the team’s sales plan and annual gross margin targets
  • Generating your own leads through a mix of different strategies, ranging from telephone calls and use of social media to networking events
  • Sales forecasting, growth plans, and weekly/monthly management information
  • Supporting Sales Management and other territories’ teams with exploring and onboarding new opportunities through either proposal writing or client meetings
  • Assisting with other opportunities and energy projects when appropriate to do so

Requirements:

Essential:

  • A minimum of three years working in the UK energy industry 
  • A minimum of one year in a business development capacity 
  • Excellent presentation skills 
  • Strong proposal writing skills

 

Desirable:

  • An in-depth understanding of flexible purchasing/risk management strategies
  • International energy procurement experience
  • Fluent in at least one language other than English

Candidates must be professional with strong commercial awareness and excellent verbal and written communication skills. They must be highly numerate and computer literate, with a strong work ethic.
