Development Manager (Delivery)

Expired

Job Description:

Development Manager (Delivery)

London

Permanent position - £45,000 - £55,000 plus package

The Situation

Believe it or not, the corporate life isn’t for everyone. Not everybody enjoys being tied to their desk from 7 until 7, with an autocratic chain of command - there really is more to life. Some people prefer a warmer, more collaborative atmosphere where you’ll receive support, not a dressing down.

My client is a medium sized family-run developer based in Central London that work on residential projects across Greater London of high-quality housing and apartments. They have a culminated a very pleasant working environment and work as a tight-knit unit (25 staff currently).

They have a pipeline of small and large projects coming up (5 houses to a 20 storey tower) and are looking for somebody to join as Development Manager to help progress these projects from planning to completion (sometimes using external PM’s, sometimes not).

When you work for a smaller business, you get the opportunity to expand your skillset, you are no longer a cog. Your role has a wider remit, your opinion is heard, and you get to make decisions for the benefit of the company.

The Candidate

You could be from a large corporate business, alienated by the working environment and seeking a wider-ranging role (though, bulldozers need not apply, this is a collaborative developer). You could be from a similar sized business looking to take on a new challenge.

Ideally you would have a quantity surveying or commercial background with a consultancy, as the nature of a client-facing role and managing multiple relationships would be an asset.

One thing that is essential is experience of residential developments. You don’t have be a DM necessarily, but you’ll need to know the intricacies of houses and apartments (ideally in high-density urban areas).

This is a fantastic role for somebody who wants to learn, develop, run their own projects, and do so with a friendly and pleasant group of colleagues.
