THE COMPANY:

With an ever-increasing product portfolio, this organisation is future proofing the expansion they are going through with an additional team member to take responsibility for a number of key product areas. Therefore, this exciting role has just been newly created for an experienced product manager.

THE ROLE OF A PRODUCT MANAGER:

As a product manager, you will be getting stuck into a huge variety of tasks and responsibilities all with the aim of working from cradle to grave across product groups, with the objective of increasing growth and sales.

Some of the parts of your role will include:

• Assisting in the entire lifecycle management of different product categories
• Catalogue / Cross-referencing control
• Pricing & Price related queries
• Administration
• Operational and stock control
• Range analysis
• Promotions
• Liaising with suppliers in the Far East (and also visiting them)
• Product Development

This is a role where you will be heavily relying on your electrical and electronic knowledge as you are at the heart of new products being developed and launched. Given the freedom to build your categories as you see fit ensuring that you remain competitive and ahead of the curve in the marketplace.

EXPERIENCE IDEALLY REQUIRED FOR A PRODUCT MANAGER:

Due to this type of role and what is involved, experience is as important as your attitude and your approach.

A background in automotive is not required but having strong knowledge of electronics or electrics is. Product management experience is useful but not essential as you may have come from a similar background, such as a design engineer.

Of course, with a role of this nature, IT skills are also important and it is expected that you would have a strong IT literacy with particularly good Microsoft excel knowledge.

Travelling abroad and visiting suppliers / designers / manufacturers in the far east will also be a part of the role and you should be comfortable being away from home once or twice per quarter.
