Overview

  • Due to a rapid increase in orders, my client, a global organisation specialising in the process industry is seeking an Electrical Technician to join its Technical Support Team on shift. The primary role of the Shift Technician is to maintain their machinery and keep plant downtime to a minimum.
  • The incumbent is responsible for the maintenance and continuous improvement of the area asset. The role provides hands on service to site operations to minimise downtime by using quick, safe technical fixes.
  • Receives direction in the form of general objectives as well as developing own objectives from experience and statutory requirements. Co-operation with other engineering personnel is required to effectively realise engineering plans across the site.
  • The responsibilities of this role include the effective maintenance and improvement of all operational assets and to provide support and advice on operational and output improvements.

Main Tasks

  • Provide necessary engineering support to a continuous operation as needed.
  • Contributes to, develops and implements effective maintenance procedures ensuring their consistent application.
  • Trouble shoots equipment/process problems to root cause in conjunction with team members to ensure rapid resolution of problems and those team members learn from the experience.
  • Responsible for preventing reoccurrence of equipment failures by root cause analysis and initiating solutions, ensuring asset performance improvements.
  • Participates in the development and implementation of condition based maintenance programs.
  • Contributes to the installation and commissioning of new projects.

You

  • Multi skilled Electrical bias. NVQ3 Elec, time served apprenticeship or equivalent.
  • Practical experience in a manufacturing, process or heavy industry environment.
  • You must have a good understanding of electrical instrumentation

 

Please be advised that during your training period of up to 6 months you will be working a days based shift pattern which will develop in to the 12 hour shift rotation.
