THE ROLE OF A MANAGING DIRECTOR:


As the managing director you will ultimately be responsible for the entire business operation within the UK with a view to taking the existing business and growing it for the future.

The buck stops with you and with full P&L responsibility, you will look to create and implement a strategy that will employ all current revenue streams to look at organic growth and commercial activity within a highly competitive UK marketplace.

Alongside this will be the actual running of the business operation and its finances which you will have complete control over to look at efficiencies and areas of improvement.


Day to day, you will be overseeing a senior management team covering all areas of the business, including sales, operations, marketing and finance. With the team reporting in to you directly you will work closely with them all help implement the long-term strategic goal of growing the business.

Within any role at this level, the culture and fit of the individual as managing director is vital. This is an organisation that is a friendly, democratic yet non-corporate atmosphere where there are no politics! As Managing Director, you will ultimately have to make tough and final decisions however autocratic leaders need not apply!

This is a business that isn’t broken but is transitioning with changes in the market place and wanting to put in place a winning formula for the future. As such a forward thinking individual is required to move, adapt and implement the changes that are required yet not afraid to get stuck in themselves.

EXPERIENCE IDEALLY REQUIRED FOR A GENERAL MANAGER (MD DESIGNATE):

 

Ideally you will have had recent experience in a senior management or directorship level role and being able to demonstrate personal achievements where you have had a positive impact on business growth.

By overseeing and being responsible for all business areas including finance and operations, having had exposure to these will hold you at an advantage however previous sales experience (whether direct or overseeing a team) would be even more useful, as the key to success in the future, is generating new sales ideas and implementing them.

Overseeing and running a large business day to day is no easy task, wearing a number of different hats is always going to require an individual that is adaptable, organised, inspiring and above all, committed to the long term strategy and growth plans with the drive and determination to achieve more.

 

As the role will require you to be in and around the business most days living within a reasonable commute of the Leeds / Bradford area is necessary.
