Job Description:

Our client is looking for an experienced Business Transformation Project Manager to work on a 37 hour per week to start on the 24-07-17 until the 24-10-17 with a likely extension. All candidates must hold a current Standard CRB/DBS

Purpose of Role:

·         Manage a number of high-profile projects within the organisation which will provide the necessary capabilities to transform the client and the way it operates

·         Work as part of a team to follow a data-led approach to analyse all areas of the organisation to identify potential opportunities to improve services for customers and deliver financial efficiencies.

·         Support work to identify opportunities to make the best use of the technology and digital solutions available to enable the organisation to operate as effectively and efficiently as possible

·         Support the development of the future operating model of the organisation through the redesign of existing services, utilising the capabilities developed elsewhere within the Watford 2020 Programme, or through new capabilities which are identified as required

 

Knowledge/Skills/Qualifications: 

 

  • Highly numerate with expertise in data manipulation and data analysis and experience of using this to identify efficiencies in a complex organisation
  • PRINCE 2 Foundation certified
  • High quality project management skills with strong working knowledge of project governance and risk and issue management
  • Ability to manage a range of projects simultaneously
  • Appreciation of the importance of customers and the significance of communicating effectively with stakeholders
  • Strong report writing and presenting skills
  • Ability to work as part of multi-skilled teams in a professional environment or remotely
  • Good working knowledge of business process re-engineering, including process mapping
  • Knowledge and understanding of HR implications relating to organisational change
  • Strong understanding of digital solutions in a public sector environment to improve the customer journey whilst driving efficiencies
  • Strong workshop facilitation skills, including the ability to communicate difficult or complex messages in a measured and clear manner
  • Ability to think creatively and to support others in doing so to think outside the box and beyond their usual horizons
  • Ability to work under pressure, to prioritise and to work to tight deadlines
  • Ability to influence and negotiate with stakeholders across the organisation
  • Excellent administrative, organisational, IT and problem-solving skills

 

ICT/ technological aptitude

  • Advanced MS Excel skills to collate, present and analyse large amounts of complex data
  • Excellent working knowledge of MS Office applications, including Word, Project, Powerpoint, Visio and Outlook
  • High level understanding of technology and how it can be used to improve services and reduce costs
  • Experience of the use of IT solutions to improve the customer journey and maximise efficiencies through effective integration of systems

 

Experience

 

  • Experience of identifying organisational efficiencies through the collation and analysis of financial and performance data
  • Extensive project management experience preferably within a structured programme or portfolio environment, with a proven ability to deliver specified outcomes within agreed time limits
  • Experience of working collaboratively with complex services to review and improve specific processes and ways of working
  • Experience of operating at a senior level to implement cross-service change initiatives

Working knowledge of redesigning services to be shaped around the needs of customers and making effective use of technology and digital solutions to ensure they are delivered as effectively and efficiently as possible
