Senior Quality Engineer

Austin Vita is working with a market-leading organisation who are looking for a Senior Quality Engineer, with a clear progression path into a Senior Management position.

The Senior Quality Engineer will be working closely with the Sales & Service team to ensure adverse customer experiences are brought to a timely and satisfactory conclusion. This includes customer complaints, failure on arrival and warranty claims. You will also have responsibility for Root Cause Analysis and Corrective Actions to ensure that customers are satisfied and to achieve Quality targets.

Tasks and Responsibilities

Overview

This role covers both Medical & Safety in order to:

1. Manage escalated issues (e.g. Hot Sites)

2. Work closely with the Regulatory Authorities

3. Provide cover and resilience during leave, training, etc. of other team members

4. Offer day-to-day guidance to the less experienced members of the team

Customer Support

· Provide an escalation point for Customer Complaints.

· Offer guidance to Local Complaint Investigators and monitor progress to meet KPIs.

· Co-ordinate Hot Sites / Issues resolution.

· Work on the reduction of Local Failures-on-Arrival (FOAs).

· Lead by example with a customer-centric approach and promote this throughout the organization.

Field Actions & Regulatory Authorities

· Monitor FAs to ensure that Safety Notices are distributed and technical corrections are completed according to due dates.

· Work closely with the Regulatory Authorities to: – provide information – be the interface between Competent Authorities and the Manufacturer

Corrective & Preventive Actions

· Provide support to CAPA Owners with the documentation of Root Cause Analysis, Risk Assessment and Action Plans.

· Monitor and report progress to ensure timely closure. Escalate delays promptly.

· Perform effectiveness checks, as required.

Reporting

· Quality KPIs

· Monthly presentation to CLT

· Management Review

Other

· Quality improvement initiatives e.g. Improvements’ Register, Lean 6 Sigma projects.

· Complete all necessary and relevant training.

· Other tasks, as required.

Your Qualifications

* University Graduate with a Science or Business degree
* Trained & competent in ISO 9001:2015 & ISO 13485:2016.
* Managing people (desirable).
* Able to work effectively with Customers face-to-face when there are complaints and challenging issues to be resolved.
* Excellent communication skills, written and verbal, with concise expression.
* Prepared to travel as required
* UK driving License
