Job Description:

Quality Microbiology Stability Technician

Medical Devices, FMCG, Northwich

Permanent position paying up to £23,000, 40-hour week, 8.30-5.00 +Flexible working hours

My client is a leading manufacturer of medical devices and are looking for Quality professional to join the current team. The ideal candidate will:

  • Have a HNC in applied Biology or relevant subject.
  • Be able to perform tests that confirm anti-microbial properties of the product e.g. log reduction, bacterial barrier, viral barrier.
  • Have good microbiological techniques.
  • Have the ability to operate relevant testing instruments.
  • Have the ability to analysis test results and present a report.

Day to day responsibilities:

  • To accurately record data, calculate results and file information e.g. raw data in accordance with Quality Management System requirements.
  • Timely and effective testing of all stability time points, routine and non-routine materials, products and samples.
  • To ensure quality control activities are performed in accordance with relevant Health, Safety and Environmental policies and procedures.
  • To actively participate in the investigation of quality issues e.g.. customer complaints, non-conforming material (NC), Out of Specification (OOS) results and product failures, identifying effective Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) as required
  • Maintain communication between departments (QA, R&D and Production) on the status of Stability testing and identified issues.
  • Generate, update and maintain QC Laboratory procedures, test methods, statistical sampling plans and documentation.
  • Support the other activities of QC Microbiology as required (e.g. bioburden testing, Environmental monitoring of Clean rooms)
  • Supporting in Validation; protocol, report execution and Dose audits.
  • Media preparation
  • Identification and Enumeration of Micro-organism (Gram stain and Microscopy) as required.
  • To work with & handle class 1 + 2 strains of bacteria aseptically.
  • Ensuring all testing done is carried out to the Laboratory’s standard operating procedures.
  • Ensuring all data generated is managed through the laboratory smoothly and contains all the information necessary to allow a true and accurate interpretation of results. The information must be completed / data entered within deadlines of work completion.
  • Taking responsibility for organising the workload through the laboratory with due regard to safety, accuracy. Ensure minimal delay and appropriate prioritisation of samples
